Old methods include extraoral traction, removable appliances with springs as well as Class I intermaxillary elastic. Since the major problem is patients” compliance which is a presupposition for the effectiveness of these modalities. Thus the development and use of new techniques and appliances can minimize the need for patient cooperation and provides a reliable and more predictable treatment alternative.
