Description
Bade Saa’b Tha play Bade Saa’b takes its inspiration from The Government Inspector, a satirical play by 19th century Russian playwright and novelist, Nikolai Gogol. Based upon an anecdote allegedly recounted to Gogol by Pushkin, the play is a comedy of errors, satirizing human greed, stupidity, and the extensive political corruption of Imperial Russia. Translated into various languages the play has regaled audiences globally since the 1840s. In Bade Saab, the playwright has successfully contemporized the story without compromising with its satire or humour.
