The novel The Trapped Lovers is written on the themes of love and sexuality and the craze of the modern youth to follow the postmodern values. Rishu Takiat is a Dalit boy who belonged to Amritsar. It was the chance that he had saved a young and beautiful girl Sudha from the stampede during his school days. She was the daughter of rich businessman. She became devoted to him and financed his education stealing money from the cupboard of her dad. She had told thousand lies to live with him. Sudha had passion to visit the historical places of Egypt; Athens and Mesopotamia. She left Rishu and joined the cancer doctor Rama of Hyderabad. She was excited when she came to know that Rama lived in Athens. She took the flight and went with him but was shocked to know about the reality of Rama. She came in contact with a Greek girl Sophia who took her to the City club of Athens where she came in contact with Robin Douglas who was on her holidays to visit the historical places of Egypt and Rome. Sudha’s ambition was fired and she joined him and spent one month with him. He narrated false and frivolous stories of his Indian mom and pretended that he loved her and wanted to marry her. Both were now trapped lovers. But in fact Robin was an American guy whose routine was to trap a beautiful girl and cheat on here. Sudha was shocked when she came to know about his real identity. She cried and returned to meet Rama who had been cheated on by Sophia. Both were alone and they married. She gave birth to twins Humpty and Dumpty but Rama was killed in the plane crash! Sudha was compelled to come back India where she met Kajal in the aeroplane. She was the sister of Rishu. She took her to Bombay where she met her old friend Rishu who was at the end of the road. The story is full of suspense; sexuality of the trapped lovers of Seema; Rihu; Kamini and Sudha.
