Veeksha Vagmita likes to weave words into artistic creations that have a visceral quality. She likes her works to throb with feelings, whether it is heart-wrenching sorrow or the sheer delight elicited by sizzling comedy. Her debut book was Papa: Surviving the Loss: A Poem, brought out by Hawakal Publishers. It is a poetic narrative delving into the depths of grief upon losing one’s well-spring of joy and bulwark against the storm. Vagmita is equally adept at writing prose and poetry. She holds a PhD in English (literature) from Ambedkar University Delhi. She has reviewed many books for Scroll.in besides contributing articles/poetry to The Wire, The Sunday Guardian and The Print. She has served as a Senior Copy Editor at The Times of India and edited several books.
