P. K. Mishra, General Manager of the Modern Coach Factory, Raebareli, is a senior officer of the Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineers and one of India’s leading railway historians. Renowned for restoring over fifty historic railway structures, he has pioneered self-sustaining heritage conservation models across Indian Railways. A prolific author, his research spans restoration of heritage buildings, museum development, and the scholarly research, making him one of the foremost voices in railway heritage today. His writings have appeared with Dorling Kindersley and Penguin Random House. He is currently completing a major historical volume on the East Indian Railway based on original archival sources.
