Description
The Sea in a Bottle
Benyamin
Just as the enormous energy of the Big Bang can be hidden inside something as tiny as a molecule, and just as an explosion can lie within a mustard seed, something very small can hold something incredibly powerful.
In Rafeeq Memunda’s one-line stories, every word carries weight.
What is left unsaid often tells the bigger story.
These are one-line stories. Yet, like the sea squeezed into a bottle, each little story holds an entire world within it. The vastness and character of the ocean are captured in just a few words.
Inside these tiny story-bottles, we can find whales, ships, deep waters, oysters, mermaids and the mysteries of the sea.
Creating something so vast within such a small space is a remarkable art. It takes the patience to savour nectar and the determination needed to climb a mountain.
There is no doubt that Rafeeq Memunda has reached these stories through such a journey of imagination & effort.
All the best for Rafeeq Memunda
