‘Breadcrumbs and Bones’ is the second illustrated poetry collection from Jasmine James. There are 70 love poems in this book, including 20 English Haikus which follow the five-seven-five 17 syllable rule, honouring the essence of traditional Japanese Haiku poems.
Beautifully illustrated throughout by Jasmine herself, this collection features poignant verses both fragile and fearless, exploring all-encompassing themes of intimacy, philosophy and spirituality.

The opening poem reads: “Sad to know you have not moved
An inch from where I left you,” he said.
He left stealthily, while I was still
Dreaming about him, in bed.”

In the poem ‘Let Them Be Happy,’ she writes: “Corinthian love is such
A bliss, if only you see
People basically do
What they wish-and
Not what suits you or me.
So let them be happy.”

The book is a celebration of love and heartbreak. The closing haiku sums it up:
“In the midst, sometimes,
Of a fairytale, love gives
You a real nightmare.”
