Dr. Narayan Rout is a researcher, author, and independent scholar whose work sits at the rare and fertile intersection of ancient Indian wisdom and modern science. Born and raised in Odisha, he brings to his writing an insider's intimacy with the Jagannath tradition — the rituals, the living priests, the sacred geography of Purushottama Kshetra — alongside the analytical rigour of a multidisciplinary academic and professional life spanning more than two decades.
His educational background is deliberately wide. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yoga Therapy, supplemented by a Post-Graduate Diploma in Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, and professional qualifications in Industrial Hygiene, Psychology, Mindfulness, Nutrition, Gut Health, Computer Applications, and Music Therapy. This breadth is not accidental — it reflects a lifelong conviction that the deepest questions about human existence require more than one instrument of investigation.
Dr. Rout served for over twenty years as an Aviation Technician with the Indian Air Force, an experience that taught him precision, discipline, and the habit of looking at complex systems whole rather than in parts. He currently works with BHEL — Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited — one of India's foremost engineering organisations.
His primary area of research is the convergence of ancient Indian philosophical traditions with contemporary science — neuroscience, quantum physics, consciousness studies, and perceptual psychology. He is the founder of TheQuestSage.com, an interdisciplinary platform dedicated to this convergence, which has grown into a substantial body of published research reaching readers across the world.
He is the author of Yogic Intelligence vs Artificial Intelligence ( 2025), Fluxiverse (Orange Book Publication), and KUTUMB — an Amazon bestseller — published by ES Square VJ Publication. His work has been recognised by the literary community, including a feature on the cover of Golden Petal e-Magazine and the conferral of the Rabindra Ratna award for his contribution to literature and knowledge.
JAGANNATH is his most ambitious and most personal work — a two-thousand-year journey through the stories, philosophy, science, and contested history of the Lord of the Universe, written from the inside of a tradition he has lived, and offered to readers everywhere who are willing to look.
