Port Blair-1919 The steam ship SS Diana almost on its last leg sets sail from Calcutta and arrives at the harbour of Port Blair carrying in its hold 62 political prisoners and three convicts destined to be condemned to the dreadful Cellular jail or Kala paani. But while on the way to jail through a small stretch of dense forest, all the prisoners, along with the police personnel who are escorting them vanish without a trace. There are no tell-tale signs of any struggle or attempts at escape. Also left behind and later found by a woodcutter, is a small red colour cloth-bound pocket diary that belonged to Dr Herman Harding who is one of the passengers of SS Diana and who is also among the vanished. Present Day One of the richest men on the planet, Shaunak Mahajan who, inspired by a book written by Atharv Ved summons him and asks for a cure for a terminal disease he is suffering from. The bizarre request stems from the content of the book itself. The ask is almost impossible for Atharv until certain events begin to develop pushing Atharv’s life into a turmoil. Thrown into a vortex of time loops, mystical portals leading to other dimensions, a labyrinth of bizarre water-filled caves, Atharv, an ordinary author but with the aid of an extraordinary mystic from Benaras, must fight some of the strongest forces to not only affect a promised cure but also save this woman: The Magnificent Eighth. In his desperate quest Atharv discovers the past is not something static but coexists with the present. The past blends into the present in a seamless way creating a strange meridian of psychical forces.
