Air pollution and global warming are the two biggest environmental risks now facing humanity. Both are directly related to the overreliance on fossil fuels we currently have. Due to the urbanisation of the global population, pollutants created by the combustion of hydrocarbons today cause even more health issues. The only area known to support human existence, the Earth, is in danger due to global warming, which is thought to be caused in part by the net rise in ambient carbon dioxide from combustion. Furthermore, the import of pricey hydrocarbon fuel has grown to be a significant burden for many nations, resulting in political and economic discontent. If we look at the past 2000 years’ history of fuels, usage has consistently moved in the direction of a cleaner fuel: wood → coal → petroleum → propane → methane.
