Water has always been central to human civilization. From the earliest settlements along rivers to the growth of modern cities, access to reliable water has shaped the prosperity, health, and stability of societies. India, a land historically blessed with mighty rivers, monsoon rains, and diverse ecosystems, has long been perceived as a country rich in water resources. Yet today, beneath this appearance of abundance lies a growing crisis. This compilation has not been done to create havoc for water but simply to increase awareness for utilizing and conservation of water so that our coming generation may not suffer from this unseen Silent water Emergency which are at present taking shape with continuous declining trend and emergence of water Mafias Across India, rivers are shrinking, groundwater levels are falling, lakes are disappearing, open wells have dried up or being abandoned and as such millions of people struggle to secure safe drinking water. In many cities of A and B categories, taps run dry for days. Farmers face declining yields as aquifers recede. Communities and particularly our women travel long distances for water that was once available close to home. The problem is no longer confined to drought-prone regions; it is becoming a nationwide challenge that affects rural villages, expanding cities, and fragile ecosystems alike.
