Description
Proud to Be a Teacher is the outcome of my daily reflections on education, values, and the noble mission of teaching, which I regularly shared with various school and college groups across Nagaland as a source of motivation and inspiration for teachers. This initiative began during the COVID-19 pandemic and continued for several years. The present volume is a collection of selected writings born out of those reflections and interactions. Many of the thoughts presented in this book emerged from my daily reading, contemplation, and meaningful conversations with friends and well-wishers. Often, a simple idea or inspiring message shared by others became a spark that encouraged deeper reflection within me. I have attempted to rebuild and reshape those inspirations through my own understanding and experience. Most of these reflections are drawn from the wisdom of great educationists, thinkers, and individuals who have significantly contributed to the enlightenment of generations. The COVID-19 pandemic taught humanity many new lessons. It showed us how technology and electronic communication can connect people across boundaries in remarkable ways. Yet, amidst all these changes, books continue to hold a timeless and greater role in connecting the past, present, and future. Through books, thoughts transcend generations, cultures, and experiences. It is my hope and prayer that this humble work may also become part of that continuing legacy. Education exists to shape and transform individuals toward meaningful living and holistic growth. It is often regarded as the remedy for many of society’s challenges, and therefore every community places immense value on education. Through education, individuals gain wisdom, confidence, and the ability to face the struggles of life with courage and clarity. Teachers and mentors occupy a vital place in the journey of every student. Their guidance, dedication, and influence help mould responsible citizens and compassionate human beings. Teaching, therefore, is not merely a profession, but a noble vocation that deserves honour, respect, and pride. I express my sincere gratitude to Orange Publications for taking the initiative to publish these reflections in the form of a book.
